We all anticipate certain landmarks as we get closer and closer to campus
I am writing to you from the Board table at Camp’s 2023 Winter Board of Trustees Meeting at the Hank Poler Leadership Center on the Dudley campus in Westport, New York.
We're thrilled to announce our 2023 Camp Dudley and Kiniya Division Heads!
In June of 2005, I arrived on campus to drop off our son for his junior season and was greeted immediately by #8804 John Storey.
Just as the summer ends and the Dudley Kiniya Alumni Association (DKAA) wraps up its annual gathering, the year-round team and a few remaining staff extend the summer program to a handful of visiting groups.
Over 20 years ago (circa 1920), a big brown tent known as the B. B. T. was erected on the Dudley campus. Its purpose was to house a new and younger group of boys who proved to be the original Cubs of Camp Dudley.
Lost sheep are often found in unsuspecting but familiar places. Our Ghanian son and exchange student attended Kent School in Connecticut.
Just like for our summer camping sessions, we ask that all participants be vaccinated against COVID 19 and that you do not come if you are feeling ill. We encourage you to take a rapid test and test negative for COVID prior to joining us. Thanks for helping us keep our community safe!
“Extravagant,” “Fun,” “Exciting,” “Surprise,” “Bring your ‘A game’.” These are some of the many expressions Dudley and Kiniya alumni conjured when trying to describe extravaganzas.
In the spring of 2019, Matt Storey started a conversation with Clifton Harcum, Director, Center of Diversity at SUNY Potsdam. Matt had read a story in the Adirondack Explorer about Clifton’s enthusiasm for exploring the ADKs and had reached out to connect.
